The ruined village with a dark secret...
I first noticed Cil Drygwr when we were wandering about on the west side of Cwm Pennant. We'd been having a look at the remains of Castell Caerau, on the rocky slopes of Craig-y-Garn. It's an iron age fort, but looks more like a collection of random dry-stone walls- still mindblowing, nevertheless, to think that the rocks were put in place by the hands of our distant ancestors. I'm very pleased that you enjoyed the article and photos...yes, I miss Flickr, and my friends :-( Your comments were always very supportive and interesting, and I am so pleased that you took time to have a look here. Sadly, I can't really return to Flickr, but I will always be here and on my Tumblr. I am keeping an eye on your stuff, though- the latest shots of Caerlaverock and also of the Mill on Snowdon Street are wonderful.

Very sad to hear you will no longer be posting on Flickr, you’ve encouraged, inspired and reignighted a dormant interest of Both the quarries and abandonment and also photography, over the past 12 months or so , I kind of think it’s very rude of me to wonder why you’ve suddenly opted out, kind of feel deprived, can’t really work out how tumblr works but I will make more of an effort to look here on your site

Thank you, Victoria, I can't state enough how much your kind comments and support encouraged me and gave me confidence to undertake greater things. I hope my appreciation of your fine images had a similar effect. I have enjoyed seeing your work so much and your friendship is a privilege. I will do my best to keep this blog current; I have quite a few posts to make! Thanks again, Victoria :-)

To Caley, I can't thank you enough for your encouragement and your patient reading of my adventures, such as they are. It was a pleasure to be on Flickr, and perhaps I may be able to return at some point in the future. I thought it best to remove myself to deprive the troll of his diet :-) blocking him didn't seem to work and I ended up spending time removing his comments rather than taking photos. Cheers, pal :-) Comments are closed.
